I would like to see the camaraderie for the Marine Corps, other than the stuff we do in our specific Support Battalion. I mean every time the MWR advertises things it's...
Army Hooah 5k Run
The Soldier Show
Army Arts & Crafts Contest
Army Concert Tour
All-Army Chess Competition
In other news... Lauren from Faith & Deployments as well as Kelli from Sovereignly Sustaining Sanity must think I'm pretty cool... check out what they both gave me:

Do not get me wrong, I agree that this is an Army post therefore there are significantly more Soldier's and Army families than the other branches. However, where we are stationed we have EVERY single military branch represented (even the Coast Guard!) on base. I would just like to know what it would be like to see something other than "Join the Army Team for the Marine Corps Marathon" with my husband's branch in the name. Anyone feel me?

Seven things about me huh?
Seven things about me huh?
- I have a [mild] obsession with penguins. I blame my husband.
- I love gerber daisies and tulips.
- I have a lava orange car... it's true, and it is so much fun to drive!
- My parents are my heroes, they have been married for 27yrs. Not all perfect, but nothing that couldn't be WORKED through. I am anti-divorce [minus 2 instances] I believe most people go into marriage thinking divorce is the "easy out clause." I think of it as a cop-out clause.
- I'm not a big fan of the state I currently live in. BUT, the fact that I can drive to so many cool places I never would have been able to go to from the West Coast is awesome!
- I am crazy when it comes to trying new crafts, if I think I can do it... I will.
- My guinea pigs keep me entertained, for such tiny animals they sure do have hilarious personalities!

ReplyDeletegiiiiiirl, i know what you mean!! it's impossible to find work around where I live! ugh.
I agree about the divorce comment, totally, my parents are divorced and it's because my mom cheated on my dad, and I think divorce unless the guy is abusing you, is a way out
ReplyDeleteFunny! How is your husband to blame for your penguin obsession??? :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award! I love tulips too!
ReplyDeleteL.C.- yeah the two reasons were cheating & abuse.
ReplyDeleteStar Spangled- the first thing he ever got me was a stuffed penguin (I sleep with it when he is away)... then we both love Happy Feet & Madagascar, and now everyone buys us silly little penguin gifts.
Hey Girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks for noticing that us Coastie Wives get left out a lot :( its sad but very true!!
I <3 penguins too!!!
We live on a "joint base" now. Used to be a separate Army post next to a separate Air Force base next to a giant Navy base. Now they've combined the 3 and the different branches are all mixed up in housing and everywhere else. My Air Force husband actually works (and we live!) on the Army post now. Weird. But it's been kind of a unique experience that most AF families don't get to have. Maybe your next assignment will be more traditional? It is a neat thing to live on base/post....It's a close knit community :)
